In an interview with US news network CNN, Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon has said that there is no chance that Israel will apologise for its role in the raid on the Gaza bound Mavi Marmara two weeks ago. With that he directed the finger of blame away from Israel and towards Ankarra. He emphasized that relations between Turkey and Israel were important but laid blame directly at the Turkish government for its involvement in the ships plan to violently break the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip. He also rejected claims for an international investigation into the incident saying that Israel was fully able to investigate itself.
